Description: Athanasius of Alexandria wrote the opera DIVI ATHANASII MAGNI ALEXANDRINI ARCHIEPISCOPI SCRIPTORIS GRAVISSIMI, et sanctissimi Christi martyris, which is still in existence today. Sebastianum Niuellium, Paris; 1572 1095 pages in a 9 by 13 3/4-inch folio The title page features a lovely woodcut vignette, engraved initials, mild foxing, light browning, and a small amount of woodworm work on the outside margin at the end. Red edges, vellum binding, with the title stamped in gold on the spine. Latin text Athanasius the Great, a bishop, theologian, and the eighth pope of the Coptic Church, lived from 293 to 295 AD and died in Alexandria, Egypt (373). This is a magnificent compilation of his writings.
