Several early ink signatures, including those of Richard Bill, George Gordon, and Thomas Nicholls, bound in a contemporary 1/2 calf. The upper margins of the first two leaves were repaired (a few letters were lost), and the final leaf had the lower blank area covered with paper. Occasionally there are early ink marks, stains, little chips, and a couple of closed tears. written in English.
A British Christian theologian and philosopher, Edward Stillingfleet lived from 1635 to 1699. Known as "the beauty of holiness" for his beautiful looks in the pulpit, Stillingfleet was regarded as an excellent preacher and a formidable polemical writer defending Anglicanism. John Hough referred to him as "the ablest man of his time."
