Excellent state Latin text The Amoenitates historiae [. ], Schelhorn's most significant work, was written with scholars in mind and attracted great attention from scholarly circles in addition to introducing the author to the renowned Cardinal Quirinus" - J. G. Schelhorn (1694–1773), a Memmingen Lutheran theologian, dedicated himself "to church-historical and literary studies and edited rare sources and documents on church history in addition to his work as a pastor"
