Extremely rare gold-tooled Culemborg prize binding featuring gilt arms on both covers. Latin text cited in Spoelder (Culemborg). Roman statesman, orator, lawyer, and philosopher Marcus Tullius Cicero (106–43 BC) held the office of consul in 63 BC. He was born into a prosperous Roman equestrian order municipal family and is regarded as one of the best orators and prose stylists in Rome history.
