Description: 17TH CENTURY OR EARLIER HEAVY INDIAN CHAINMAIL AND PLATE SHIRT Comprising two pairs of slightly curved front plates fitted with shaped buckles, inside of one engraved with The Adoni inscription in Davanagri script, two pairs of kidney plates, six vertical rows of tiny lamellae to solid links except the short skirt, which is entirely made from riveted links, long sleeves, simple mail flap collar. Condition: good for age, minor damage to mail, few lamellae missing from backN.B. this shirt is from a well known group taken at The Siege of Adoni in 1689 by the Maharaja of Bikaner, and thence eventually to Bikaner in Rajasthan
