Description: 17TH CENTURY OR EARLIER HEAVY INDIAN CHAINMAIL AND PLATE SHIRT Comprising a pair of slightly curved front plates fitted with shaped buckles, the inside of one engraved with The Adoni inscription in Davanagri script, two pairs of kidney plates, three vertical rows of lamellae to back, the central row with shaped edges, the mail comprising alternate rows of riveted and solid links, those on the chest of being significantly thicker gauge, long sleeves and divided skirt. Condition: good, cleaned, bright overall with some age wearN.B. this shirt is from a well known group taken at The Siege of Adoni in 1689 by the Maharaja of Bikaner, and thence eventually to Bikaner in Rajasthan
