Description: Palestina in Bild und Text, with Ausnahme der Sinaihalbinsel und des Gosenlandes [Palestine in Word and Image]. [1883, 1884]. Two books in their entirety. A German translation of the book Picturesque Palestine (New York and London, 1881–1884). More than 500 pictures and three sizable color maps—one each of Jerusalem, Palestine, and Sinai and Egypt—accompanies the essays. The engraved plates, which portrayed the landscape and people of Palestine and its environs, were modeled after pieces by John Douglas Woodward and Harry Fenn. Int.
