Description: La Rixe (The Brawl), 19th Century attributed to Ernest MEISSONIER (1815-1891) - Fine 19th Century French interior scene of two finely dressed gentleman in a brawl, oil on canvas attributed to Ernest Meissonier. Superb quality and condition scene typical of Meissoniers painting and taken loosely from another 1853 composition with various differences. It is likely this unsigned work was a preliminary study. Presented in an antique gilt frame.
