Description: The Appian Way, Rome, 19th Century. Attributed to Edward LEAR (1812-1888). Fine 19th Century Italian landscape of the Appian Way, Rome, oil on canvas attributed to Edward Lear. Excellent quality and origin condition extensive view of the landscape at the end of the day. Distinctly similar to Lears paintings during his Italian excursions during the 1840's where he painted a huge body of work including the Roman Campagna. Unsigned and presented in a gilt frame.
