Description: A RARE AND LARGE KPM PORCELAIN PLAQUE DEPICTING THE HEAD OF CHRISTthe large oval Berlin porcelain panel depicting the head of Christ after the missing painting by Annibale Carracci (Italian, 1560-1609), with incised KPM stamp to the reverse and marked 'F', mounted in a seeminlgy original giltwood frame with volute scroll crest,the panel 43cm high, the frame 73cm highGood condition.This rare painted panel is a copy of a now lost masterpiece by the important Italian painter, Annibale Carracci. This painting was part of the collections of the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden and and it has been missing since the end of World War II, in 1945.
