Description: AN EARLY 18TH CENTURY INDIAN GEM SET SILVER GILT HUQQA BASE Bulbous form, surmounted by an everted ridged neck, chased and engraved with floral stems within arched panels, the petals and leave set with rubies and emeralds. N.B. a Huqqa base decorated in the same technique with floral pattern chased in relief but without any gemstones in The Al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait National Museum, inv. no. LNS 1102M. The combination of the relief pattern set with colourful gemstones can be seen on a sword hilt, pocket and chape in the same Museum, inv. no. LNS 2158 Ja-C
