Original brown marbled calf with rich ornamental gilding, a gold-embossed spine title label, and colorful marbled endpapers with wide margins and red-hued edges. first printing. Excellent inside, some binding wear.However, Belidor's writing, Le Bombardier Francais, was even more significant for weapons theory than this work (Cours de mathematique...). The publication includes treatises on ammunition and fireworks as well as bomb throwing. Belidor "distinguished himself outstandingly" (Jahns) through real tests that produced his tables (see here, p. 1-272), rather than through theoretical calculations.__________________________------------------------ Written in French
