Claudius Claudianus, also referred to as Claudian in English, was a Latin poet who lived from approximately 370 to 404 AD. He was a member of the Roman emperor Honorius' court at Mediolanum (Milan), specifically close to the general Stilicho. poetry for Honorius, poetry for Stilicho, and mythological epic are the three primary divisions of his work, which is composed nearly completely in hexameters or elegiac couplets.
