Text in Latin Marcus Velleius Paterculus was a Roman senator, soldier, and historian who lived from around 19 BC to around AD 31. Written in an extremely rhetorical style, his Roman history spanned the years from the conclusion of the Trojan War to AD 30, although the most important part of it is around the time from 44 BC to AD 14 when Augustus died.
