Mawlana Nur al-Din 'Abd al-Rahman, or Abd-Al-Rahman, was another name for Nur ad-Din 'Abd ar-Rahman Jami (1414–1492). Nur-Al-Din Muhammad Dashti, better known by his pen name Jami or Djami and as Molla Cami in Turkey, was a Sunni poet and scholar who is renowned for his contributions to mystical Sufi literature and scholarship. He was a well-known Khwajaganī Sufi and poet-theologian of the Ibn Arabi school. He was renowned for his eloquence and his critique of the metaphysics of mercy. Haft Awrang, Tuhfat al-Ahrar, Layla wa Majnun, Fatihat al-Shabab, Lawa'ih, and Al-Durrah al-Fakhirah are among his most well-known poetry compositions. Jami was a follower of the Sufi Naqshbandi order.
