Description: Large early 19th Century Napoleonic Wars era portrait of a senior British Military Officer, oil on canvas. Excellent quality and condition circa 1805 portrait of the officer wearing his red tunic and a cape displaying a Gold Medal and the KCB. Framed. Some light cleaning in the face required. Presented in an antique gilt frame. The works was purchased by the pervious owners in the 1970's through a London dealer as being identified traditionally as Sir John Moore who died at the Battle Of La Coruna after being fatally wounded by a canon in 1809.
