Description: One exquisite oil painting from the Scottish Renaissance featuring a fresh catch of "burnt trout" by James Russell. The "Burn Trout" title. An examination of a just caught trout fish that spilled out of the brown basket by the riverbank. In 1914, they were captured in Scotland's Ayrshire region along the Culroy Burn River. Glasgow, 463 Eglinton Street, Weir & Clyde Carvers & Gilders, old label verso. On canvas, oil. The colors are quite vivid. signed in red in the lower corner by the well-known Scottish artist, J. B. Russell.
