Description: Fine Large 19th century English view of a country path, oil on canvas. Extensive rural view with figures walking through a country path. Excellent quality preparatory work inscribed verso to John Constable. Fluid expressive brushwork and natural palette typical of Constables sketches possibly near Dedham Vale where he painted regularly. Inscribed verso to Constable but speculative and not authenticated. Possibly a preparatory work or by a member of his circle. Some losses near the bottom. Gilt frame. Measurements: 25" x 17" framed
