Description: One lovely antique early Victorian little lead tea caddy during the Crimean War. in the highly prized early Victorian style of architecture. This exquisite antique tea caddy box features a reclining lion on top, as well as several low relief scenes of British naval ships and military personnel engaged in battle on land and at sea. The two larger sides of the box display battle scenes of the Crimean War, which took place between 1853 and 1856. The forts and ships at the Sebastopol naval conflict are depicted on the two little sides. The cover lid's top features a finial of a reclining lion with the battle titles of Sebastopol, Balaklava, Inkerman, and Alma. A registry mark and the makers' mark Stock & Son are stamped on the base. Such a collectible and popular item. Manufactured by hand from lead. Early Victorian era, 1850s.
