Description: Huge 19th-century oil painting by James Elder Christie depicting a scene from Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. This rare early scene from the well-known novel features the shipwrecked Crusoe traveling through the tropical forests. It is of excellent quality and in good shape. Dated and signed in 1886. displayed in a nice gilded frame. Size: approximately 36" by 28" when framed.
