Description: Fine large 19th century Classical Impressionist scene of Daphne & Apollo, oil on canvas by Henry-Theodore Fantin-Latour. Beautiful nocturnal woodland scene with the nude mythical figures bathed in moonlight. Major work in excellent condition by one of the periods greatest impressionist painters. This piece would have been painted between 1875-1880 when Latour's work was split between his still life studies and more classically themed works. Unsigned labelled verso. Provenance: private UK estate sale. Measurements: 37" x 32" framed
