Description: Large Elizabethan School portrait of gentleman traditionally identified as poet Edmund Spenser, oil on canvas. Excellent quality and condition half length portrait of the young gentleman wearing a white padded doublet and lace ruff/collar. Exceptional early portrait that has either been painted in 1626 after his death or been post dated incorrectly. Believed by the previous vendors to be Edmund Spenser writer of the epic poem the Faerie Queene. Framed Measurements: 40" x 33" framed approx
