Descritpion: 1 Cornish Fisherman Releasing His Hooked Fish Catch, a 19th-century marine sporting oil painting by a renowned British artist from Newlyn. Featured is a half-length profile of a Cornish fisherman confronting the observer in a sea image. He is gently removing the enormous, bent fishing hook from the sizable mouth of the fish he is holding while in his fishing boat off the coast of Cornwall amid rough, choppy, rolling seas. He is keeping warm by donning his customary cap and his warmest maritime jumper. Over his shoulder, he wears a leather strap. Additionally sporting a thick beard and Cornish mustache, he is carefully inspecting the fish as he prepares to pull the hook. A scarlet scarf is draped over his neck.
