One of Moore's best subjects is a glimpse of a maritime seascape: Fishing sailboat being battered by harsh, stormy seas. Your attention is pulled to a larger, two-masted sailing fishing boat that has two sails and is equipped with a red flag atop the largest mast. There are four fishermen on the deck, and they are all looking at the nearby rocky shore. With a variety of dark clouds in the sky, some blue, clear, and brilliant regions were visible. Views of the rocky coastline with a lighthouse perched on a cliff, a tiny tender boat with two fisherman figures paddling in it to the right, and another sailing ship off in the distance can all be seen.
