Description: Dutch Sailing Ship Caught In Swell, 1 Fine Art Antique Victorian Marine Oil Painting Williams, Harry J. Painting of a ship in oil on canvas. Clearly signed by a reputable, listed British artist who was influenced by the Dutch masters. Born in 1854, he passed away in 1901. In 1854, Harry Williams was born in London's Hackney. Little is known about his early years, but in 1874 he represented Penzance by displaying two paintings at exhibitions in London. He was recorded as residing with his aunt Elizabeth Rendle at 58 Morrab Road in Penzance in 1891 when he was 37 years old, and at 38 Morrab Road in 1901 when he was married.
