Description: 19th Century Naval scene with French and US ships, oil on canvas by Eugene Boudin. Important early example of the artists work from a period of 1850-60 where he produced a series of historical naval encounters (many of these can be found on public sales records). Signed and dated 1860 and produced as part on an interdisciplinary work with another artist Grisinelli (also signed). Needs a light clean but in good original condition. Rare early example of the painters work when only 25 and painting to supplement his income while developing his style. Measurements: 29" x 21" framed approx
