Description: Chronologically, Rymchronyk (Kolyn, K.) began with the death of Graaf Dirk in 1156 and ended with the Simberschen vloed. G. d. v. Loon (Uitg.). P. de Hondt. The Hague, 1745 (4), xii, 478, (12) pages. including a title vignette etched. Bold 11 by 17 1/4" folio with original cardboard binding and a leather spine raised in divisions; paper title ticket, worn Excellent interior with some toning Gerard v. Loon produced an edition with in-depth commentary because he thought this chronicle written by Klaas Kolyn in the 12th century was a legitimate medieval source. Later on, it was shown to be a fabrication, most likely by Haarlem engraver Regnerus de Graaf. See Haitsma Mulier/v.d. Lem 311g. and De Wind, p. 508. Written in Dutch
