Description: Extensive oil painting depicting King David and Uriah from the 19th century. The court scene featuring King David and Joab holding the letter that condemns Uriah to death on the battlefield is of exceptional quality and condition. Excellent painting by a skilled artist. Acquired by the prior proprietor via art dealer James Bourlet during the 1970s, the item was credited to William Henry MARGETSON (1861-1940). presented in a nice gilded frame; approximate measurements for the frame are 35" by 26.5"
