Description: Figure in Landscape French School, circa 1890's follower of Camille Pissarro (Danish/ French 1830-1903) dated 'Mai 1890' to the lower right corner. oil painting on canvas, framed canvas: 11 x 15 inches framed: 17 x 21 inches. A beautiful late 19th century French Impressionist oil painting, dated 'Mai 1890'. The work is most likely an en plein air work, executed in situ by the artist simply capturing the moment before him. A lone figure makes her way along the country path, through the pollarded trees, with an unfolding landscape in the distance. The work carries a very tranquil and calm effect, with its soft shades of greens and pastel pink tones coming through the landscape.
