Medium: Gold Leaf, Tempera, Gouache
Description: Very fine quality, rare and important early Italian Master painting depicting the Madonna and Child with Saints in attendance. The painting is signed to the lower left corner and is of Italian authorship. We can only just make out the artists name, which reads, "Assisi". The style of the work is clearly 15th century Italian Renaissance. We feel the work is more likely to date from the 18th century though. It is painted in egg tempera, gouache paint and gold ground relief. It is an exceptional work indeed. Framed behind glass, the overall measurements are: 10.5 x 18.5 inches.
