Description: Fine large 19th century depiction of the Virgin Madonna In Prayer, oil on panel by J Anthony. Beautifully painted full length depiction of the Virgin that would have been commissioned by the church as an altar piece and is heavily influenced by Van Eyck's own Ghent Altar piece. The epic scale of the piece and infinite detail in the interiors and figure of the Madonna combine with the gold panelling surrounding her with latin inscriptions with the scrolls. The condition is original and untouched, ready to hang. Measurements: 100cm x 50cm framed approx
