Description: Fine large 18th Century British Military portrait of an officer identified as Field Marshal George Wade (1673-1748), oil on canvas. Excellent quality and condition study of Field Marshal Wade wearing a military redcoat with an unusual leopard skin trim holding a tricorn hat and wearing breast plate armour. Painted at half length within a feigned oval. Unsigned but distinctly similar to Ramsay's portraits of leading military figures from the period. Presented in a superb ornate antique gilt frame.
