Year: 17th Century Size: 120cm x 100cm Medium: Oil Description: Fine huge 17th Century English portrait of John Talbot, 1st Earl Of Shrewsbury, oil on canvas. Usual and early side profile half length study of the famous military leader and nobleman against the French during the Hundred Years War. The work is possibly by an accomplished French hand in portraiture with the side profile style and inscription top left in French. Rare early work, painted after his death. Excellent condition for its age. Could be enhanced with a light clean. Presented in a large antique gilt frame. Measurements: 120cm x 100cm framed approx
