Description: Oil on panel, bottom right monogrammed "JC," around 1800 English painting of a young child by a fireplace in an artist's studio. Before switching to landscape painting, Constables produced portraits of excellent quality and condition. An old, faded label and early inventory chalk notes on the verso of the frame. Dimensions: around 19.5" x 16.5" when framed.
