Description: Large oil on canvas laid on board English painting of a white British Longhair cat in a garden, about 1900. Superb quality and early cat portrait, illustrating the white cat in side profile with flowers in the background, a common motif in Wain's more somber cat studies around the turn of the century. The artwork, however unsigned, was acquired from a nearby estate along with other authentic Wain pieces. Size: approximately 18" by 13.5" when framed
