Description: Beautiful enormous oil on canvas picture of a woman dressed in a gentleman, created in France during World War II, circa 1943. An intriguing image of the man—possibly an artist—with his wife and one of our two pairs of shoes against the backdrop of the countryside. The image is shown in its original antique gilded frame and is in flawless, unrestored original clean condition. About Mroz's life and work as an artist, hardly much is known. It's possible that she gave up painting because of the war or perished in it. A Marion Mroz who passed away in Detroit, USA, is recorded as "Marion Mroz (1892-1976)" in the Michigan archive. Lower right corner signature, dated "avrile 1943" Origin: taken from an Oxfordshire private estate Dimensions: roughly 95 cm by 75 cm when framed.
