Description: Large oil on canvas portrait of a top British Military Officer from the early 19th century's Napoleonic Wars. A portrait of an officer wearing a scarlet tunic, a cape, and bearing a Gold Medal and the KCB is in excellent quality and preservation and dates to around 1805. Framed. There has to be some light cleansing of the face. displayed inside a vintage gilded frame. The artwork was bought by the previous owners in the 1970s from a London trader as being historically attributed to Sir John Moore, who passed away in 1809 after being gravely wounded by a cannon in the Battle of La Coruna. Dimensions: approximately 41 x 34 framed
