Description: Huge oil on canvas picture, dated to around 1810, showing a soldier and officer from the 3rd Foot Grenadier Regiment who was part of Napoleon's Imperial Guard. Rare and significant early research on troops in the Napoleonic Wars. Napoleon created them as members of his Royal Guard in Paris, and they later participated in the Russian Campaign that resulted in the capture of Smolensk. a little wear, framed.
