Description: Oil on canvas, large 17th-century English School image of a wet nurse and nursing child. Half-length portrait of a wet nurse breastfeeding a child in good condition from around 1680. She is seated half-length by a draped curtain. The infant would have been a member of an aristocratic family and was uncommonly given the portrait commission while being fed. has been expertly cleaned, relined, and refurbished. It is placed in a beautiful gilded frame and is ready to hang. Dimensions: approx. 35" x 30" framed
