Description: An early 19th-century English oil on canvas portrait by Charles Towne depicting a white Bulldog in a landscape. Towne painted the breed that had become popular among hunters and sportsmen in the North of England, where he painted and earned considerable fame for his animal studies, and did it with excellent quality and condition. This is not only typical of Towne's dog portraits. Framed. Dimensions: around 19.5" x 15.5" when framed.
