Year: 19th Century Size: 100cm x 75cm Medium: Oil Description: Fine large 19th Century portrait of a young officer from the 50th (Queens Own) Regiment Of The Foot, oil on canvas. Large half length portrait of the handsome young British officer in his red tunic and with his hat by his side wearing the distinct 50th regiment insignia. The painting is either late Napoleonic Wars or early Indian Campaigns. It may well be possible with research to identify both sitter and artist. The surface condition though not significantly damaged has become warped and would need a simple relined to correct.
