Description: Fine large 19th century portrait of "Bella" an Italian girl, oil on canvas by Paul Alexander Alfred Leroy. Half length portrait of the young girl, possibly Neapolitan, with a wall beyond titled "Spera Bella". Leading example of Leroy's painting who travelled extensively and is considered among the most important of the 19th Century Orientalists. very good condition with the exception of a small tear top right (we can also quote to professionally repair). Signature bottom left and presented in its original antique gilt frame. Measurements: 95cm x 80cm framed approx
