Description: Anne Dashwood, Countess of Galloway, later wife of John Stewart, 7th Earl of Galloway, is depicted donning an Elizabethan gown and pearls in a large oil on canvas portrait from the 18th century. The Countess appears in Elizabethan court attire in a portrait of high quality and condition. Exhibited in its original antique gilt frame with verso inscriptions. Reynolds, who painted her portrait earlier in her life, and Angelica Kaufmann, who painted her portrait later in her life, portrayed her in a similar manner. Approximately 41" x 35.5" when framed
