Subject: Horse race photograph of a bay hunter named Partisan, standing outside in an open green field with trees in the backdrop and facing left. Old label verso: Hunter In Landscape. A biography of the artist and the name "Partisan" and the date 1827 are also etched on the reverse of the horse. Canvas coated in oil. in the early 1800s, roughly. The well-known and talented English painter James Barenger signed this piece.
