Description: Large oil on canvas picture of David Lyon Junior from the early 19th century. Excellent state and quality The youthful MP, trader, and landowner from Worthing, Sussex, is portrayed in this regency-era painting. Before their abolition in 1833, he was a West Indian trader and Tory MP from Bere Alston, Devon, who also owned slaves in Jamaica. Fine quality and condition, complete with a plaque and frame. Many people have recorded his portrait; Sir Thomas Lawrence is the most well-known. Measurements: approximately 29" x 25" framed.
