Description: Fine large 17th Century English School Old Master portrait of a Elizabeth Pile, oil on canvas. Superb quality half length portrait in a feigned oval with the young girl wearing a blue dress, armlet, a sapphire, pearl necklace and with her up. Presented in its original antique gilt frame with some wear. Name plaque verso. Pile would later marry to become Lady Strickland and have her marriage portrait painted by Lely.
