Description: Large oil on canvas picture from the Elizabethan School depicting a guy who is usually identified as poet Edmund Spenser. A lovely half-length portrait in excellent quality and condition, with a young guy dressed in a white padded doublet and a lace collar. Superb early portrait that has either been mistakenly post-dated or painted in 1626, following his death. regarded by the previous vendors as the author of the epic poem The Faerie Queene, Edmund Spenser. Belgian private collector is the source of the framed item. Size: about 40" by 33" when framed.
