Excellent quality half length portrait of the distinctly dressed wine merchant marking Sicily on the map with his ship in the distance. Good condition for its age with some over varnishing. Unique piece of maritime/merchant portraiture from circa 1760 when wine export was at its height in Sicily. Measurements: 39" x 30" framed approx
