Description: Portrait of Frederick Vernon Williams, Master of the Eridge Hunt, circa 1892 by Joseph Sydney Willis Hodges (1828-1900) signed lower left oil painting on canvas, framed canvas: 57 x 40 inches framed: 67 x 50 inches A very rare and fine antique portrait of a British huntsman, dressed in full hunting attire. The painting dates to circa 1892 and is by the celebrated British portrait artist, Joseph Sydney Willis Hodges (1828-1900).
Provenance: Presented by members of the Eridge Hunt to the sitter on his marriage, 20 April 1892; thence by descent, private UK collection.
