Description: One excellent British Old Master painting from the 17th century; the first portrait of King Charles to be painted after Van Dyke. This half-length front face view portrait features Charles I, the renowned monarch of England. When he is in his strongest position, he is facing the observer while donning his armor, exuding confidence and high status authority strength. Exhibited in an exquisite composite gilded frame that accentuates the artwork, this statement piece serves as a wonderful interior wall hanging decoration. A sensible display size is the frame's 49.5-cm height. Canvas coated in oil. Not signed.Henry Stone's circle after Van Dyke, with an ancient label reading "Old Stone" affixed to the reverse and ready for hanging at home. Late 17th century, maybe.
